Daniel Čapkovič made a successful German début this summer performing Enrico in the new production of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at the Theater Regensburg, under the direction of Brigitte Fassbaender. The Slovak baritone is currently an ensemble member of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava and is a regular guest at the Prague State Opera, where his roles have included Mefisto (La Damnation de Faust) and Schaunard (La bohème).  Other roles performed include Rigoletto, Posa (Don Carlo), Tonio (I pagliacci), Michele (Il tabarro) and Herr von Faninal (Der Rosenkavalier).

At the 36th International Antonín Dvoŕák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary, Daniel Čapkovič won both the 1st Prize in the category of Opera as well as the Antonin Dvoŕák Prize, and he was the overall winner of the competition. In addition, he was twice a prize-winner at the International Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský Singing Competition and the 9th Czech and Slovak Voice International Competition in Montreal, Canada.

Daniel Čapkovič studied at the Bratislava Conservatory and at the Komensky University Bratislava. He won a scholarship for further study, attending the postgraduate course in opera at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
